About QuietusVets Yvonne and Paul
Way back in 2017, the two of us realised that many vets were no longer able to offer home visits. And when they could, they were usually in a rush. So we created QuietusVet which has transformed the way dog and cats can leave this world with way more dignity and love. We were among the first Vets to offer home euthanasia at home. We created QuietusVet to improve the last hours of a pet's life.
We also wanted 'normal' vets to think about improving what they were doing. We are so pleased that there are so many more vets in this field. It means dogs and cats can be at home with their loved one - watching TV, having a cuddle - whatever they want.
Obviously, there's a but...
3 Steps
We are so proud of our 3 Steps. It fits so well with what we are trying to do - which is to make this shared experience as good as it can be. So many people tell us they have had dreadful experiences with previous veterinary euthanasia, and we are determined to avoid this happening ever again.
We only get one chance to do this, so we have to do it right.
There are 3 steps to heaven
Our 3 Steps are a series of tiny actions (including pain-killers) which help your dog or cat slowly become drowsy and drowsier until they are finally fully asleep. This is what we are trying to achieve - we want them to have absolutely no knowledge of the final step. We want to be absolutely sure there can be no pain, no stress.
(It's hard to be sure what your pet is feeling when they are just sedated. Only by using 3-Steps can you be sure they will feel no pain.)

Here's that 'but'...
Yvonne and I are so happy that pets have more choice regarding this phase of their life.
The 'but' is we wish all providers of home euthanasia would use 3 Steps. The vets using two injections (sedation and a final one) are missing out on perfection.
Yes we may cost a bit more, but 3-Steps takes longer and we use some fairly sophisticated medicines.
We only get one chance to do this, so we must do it right.
